For defects (Findings) that are about the issue. They can be merged/linked. This allows for tracking of the issue across multiple inspections.
Newer inspections may see a crack getting larger, or a repair not holding up. This allows the preservation of the original defect and the new defect includes
the latest data and imagery etc.

Pass a list of defects, will link them (via Defect.newer_defect field) and return list of updated defects, in order.
